LATIN JAZZ - A surprising combination of three unique and personal visions of South American rythms like bossa nova,  Argentine folk music, ‘candombe’ and ‘milonga’ with a jazz concept and an impressionistic aesthetics of high artistic quality.

Agustín Pereyra Lucena: Guitar, Composition and Arrangements / Pedro Menéndez: Flute, Piano, Keyboards, Percussion, Voice, Composition and Arrangements /Guillermo ‘Billy’ Reuter: Bass, Piano, Keyboards, Percussion, Voice, Composition and Arrangements.

Year 1991 - After numerous live concerts together in their country and on an extensive tour around Norway and Germany (performing pieces of their own as well as from prestigious composers of Brazil like Joao Donato, Roberto Menescal, A.C.Jobim, among others), three talented musicians from Argentina –wellknown for their long musical trayectory -Agustín Pereyra Lucena, Pedro Menéndez and Guillermo ‘Billy’ Reuter, finally decide to give a name to their consolidated Ensamble: “Trio de Janeiro”.

‘Copabacana’ is their first discographic work bringed out today and released one decade after by Argentine label Contemporaneo Art Music.

It is not only the soundness on composition and the endless creativity. Is also the subtle guitar performance of A. Pereyra Lucena as well as the multinstrumental ductility of Pedro Menéndez (flute, piano, keyboards, percussion and voice) and Guillermo Reuter (bass, piano, keyboards, percussion and voice) which can be appreciated on this CD.

A surprising combination of three unique and personal visions of South American rythms like bossa nova,  Argentine folk music, ‘candombe’ and ‘milonga’ but with a jazz concept and an impressionistic aesthetics of high artistic quality.
