June 27th, 28th,29th 2007 - Jazz vocalist, Dexter Porter, has just returned from a amazing, jazz concert with " The National Youth Youth Orchestra of El Salvador". The concert was called "Jazz Sinfonico", and was the youth orchestra's musical director, Martin Jorge's, first foray into the Jazz genre and the concert was enjoyed by all who attended. Here are some comments made by US Ambasssador to El Salvador, Ambassador Glazer, after the debut performance: " I just wanted to let everyone know that Janet(Mrs. Glazer) and I really enjoyed last night's Jazz Sinfonico Concert. The musical program is classic American jazz and pop songs that we all know and everyone--from kids and teenagers and grownups--can enjoy. Most of the songs are sung in English by singers Kelly Mittleman, Dexter Porter, and Bob Porter from the United States. The exceptional Youth Symphony Orchestra of El Salvador provides the music with five guest musicians--four saxophonists and a trumpeter--(not to be missed) from the United States. It's the most exciting performance we have been to in our time here.I encourage all who enjoy pop and jazz music not to miss it." Dexter Porter, jazz vocalist, commented:"It was a honor to help to bring live Jazz music to a part of the world that has not had that much exposure to it. I look forward to performing in San Salvador again."
