Silver City, NM August 14, 2007… Ed Teja’s new solo CD, SOFT DREAMING BLUES has been released on the MORRHYTHM label of Outstanding Records in Huntington Beach, California. “Although my first two albums were straight-up acoustic blues, my music is rooted in jazz,” Teja says. Early in his career he studied jazz at seminars held by master jazz guitarist Howard Roberts, studied arranging at Dick Grove’s Music Workshop, and studied (and jammed) with the legendary jazzman Fred Katz, at California State University. Recently, Earl Beecher, a long-term jazz fan, who also owns Outstanding Records, suggested fusing the jazz guitar lines he heard in Ed’s instrumentals with the smooth vocal style in the song SOFT DREAMING BLUES to create this CD. “The title came from waking up with a melancholy and musical feeling,” Teja says, "not really sad, just a little wistful. Jazzy, bit still the blues.” The resulting songs are all originals, written by Ed alone or with his good friends and cowriters, Frank Milan, Javaid Qazi, and Derek Stephen McPhail. “My cowriters add an extra dimension to the music.” he says.

Teja has performed at the Silver City Blues Festival, at the Tucson Folk Festival in 2006, at the Glenwood Folk Festival in 2003 and 2005, and frequently appears at various clubs. His music has been used on Discovery Health Channel, two DVDs produced by independent filmmakers and, this June, on the radio program “Churchill Square Home” in Brighton, England. The new CD, SOFT DREAMING BLUES, is available from the record company’s web site (http://www.outstandingmusic.com/product_p/496.htm) and from retail outlets in Silver City.
