Still trying to figure out what to get Dad this year?  The OC Pavilion is pleased to announce a special Father’s Day dining celebration on Sunday, June 15.  The special celebration includes a 4-course, five-star meal in the award-winning Ambrosia Restaurant followed by a live performance by the two-time Grammy-award winning jazz band, The Yellowjackets, in the OC Pavilion theatre.

The Yellowjackets debuted on the jazz music scene in 1981 dedicated to pushing the boundaries of traditional jazz.  Their improvisational style draws from a wide range of musical sources, incorporating elements of Bebop, funk, R&B, and rock.  Their debut album made serious waves in jazz radio, receiving both public and critical acclaim.  The group has performed together over the last 27 years at many prestigious venues and events, including the Playboy Jazz Festival.  Their music has seen great successful on the Billboard Jazz charts and concert venues around the world.  They are perhaps best known for contributing two songs for the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.

The Yellowjackets are currently on tour in Europe, with scheduled stops including the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Switzerland, France, Italy and Holland, before returning for concert dates in the U.S.  The June 15 concert date is currently their only schedule West Coast stop.

Hawaiian Tuna Poké “Martini”with Haas Avocado, Edamame and Yuzu Sesame Soy Dressing OR Fire Roasted Hog Island Oysters with Bloomsdale Spinach, Applewood Smoked Bacon and Parmigiano-Reggiano OR Country Fried Petaluma Quail with Veal Sweetbreads, Forest Mushrooms, Dried Black Mission Figs and Saba OR Maine Lobster and Sweet Corn Raviolis with English Peas, Spring Onions and Preserved Lemon 

Your choice of 2nd Course selections:

Yellow Tomato Tortilla Soup with Black Bean Relish and Salsa Fresca OR Baby Spinach and Endive Salad with Ambrosia Apples, Candied Pecans, Creamy Blue Cheese-Cider Vinaigrette

Your choice of Entrées:

“Certified Black Angus” Culotte Steak with ‘Rogue River’ Blue Cheese Polenta, Broccolini, Guanciale and Red Wine Shallot Jus OR Loch Duart Scottish Salmon with Alaskan Golden King Crab ‘Cole Slaw’, Pixie Tangerines and Delta Asparagus OR Colorado Lamb Chops with Merguez Sausage, Aubergine and Vadouvan Spiced Cauliflower OR Hand Harvested Maine Sea Scallops with Beets ‘du Marché’, Fiddlehead Ferns, Weiser Farms Carrots and Prosciutto Foam

Immediately following the dinner, guests with concert tickets will descend to the main level OC Pavilion theatre to see a special concert by The Yellowjackets. 

Tickets for the concert only are $45-65 for adults and $30 for children under 12. Guests will receive $10 off concert tickets with reservations for Father’s Day dinner. The Ambrosia Father’s Day dinner is $55 for adults and $20 for children.  All Father’s will receive 1 complimentary cocktail.
