Objective: To reach all type of audience in Puerto Rico and around the world that enjoys Latin Jazz, traditional Jazz (Acoustic, Big Band, Fusion, Mambo, etc.), Classic and Cuban Salsa, and Afro-Caribbean music including Brazilian rhythms.
Style: Will be an open and educative style avoiding belligerent or conflictive messages or themes (non-religious, non political topics). I will use my program as a platform to educate and expose interesting themes about Science in general, History, Culture, and Arts. The idea is to bring a musical alternative to the listeners around the globe that is tasty (in Spanish “sabrosa”) avoiding commercial influences or trends. I encourage people to call or e-mail me as a feedback tool.
Music: My main goal is to keep the best of Jazz and Salsa alive. I will try to weave the free style and beauty of Jazz with the cadence and flavors of Salsa. Musicians like Machito, Mario Bauzá, Dizzy Guillespi, Charlie “Bird” Parker, Cannonball Adderly, Gerry Mulligan, Paquito D’Rivera, Lucas van Marwejick, Cal T’Jader, Tito Puente, Giovanni Hidalgo, Michelle Camilo, Danilo Pérez, Manolito Simonet, La Aragón, Chucho Váldez, Jerry González, Tito Rodríguez, Arturo Sandoval, Irakere, Bobby Hutcherson, Horacio El Negro, Airto, and many great others will be part of my “menu” every Thursday night.
