September 21 - The Vault VIP Lounge, www.myspace.com/thevaultvip, located inside the OC Pavilion, is pleased to welcome The Mike Bennett Trio on Friday, September 21 at 8 PM. Once a basement vault for a large bank, the Vault VIP Lounge has been transformed into a plush nightclub with hightop tables, leather sofas, intricate art pieces and romantic lighting.
Mike Bennett is an internationally recognized Drummer and Percussionist based in Los Angeles, CA. At only 24-years-old Mike Bennett is emerging as one of the nation’s top drummers and percussionists. His tremendous musicality and on-stage charisma have led Drum! Magazine to call him, “a full-fledged chameleon, showing restraint or blasting chops when called for, with a clean sound, metronomic feel, and a distinctly melodic soling style.”
Modern Drummer Magazine agrees and says that he is, “on the fast track…a versatile drummer who is building a reputation as one of L.A.’s finest.”
In his short career, Bennett has crossed many contemporary and world genres and has performed on both drum kit or percussion with artists such as The Estrada Brothers, Johnny Blas, Joe Jewell, Benise, David Garfield, Sandro Albert, Jonah Matranga, Max Bennett, Chris Williams and many others. He has appeared/performed on television shows and stations such as The Tonight Show, The Ellen Degeneres Show, TeeNick, Good Morning America, The Jimmy Kimmel Show, MTV, VH1, and MuchMusic. Mike has recently returned from tour with pop sensation Hilary Duff on her Dignity World Tour. Bennett can also be heard on the new drum and percussion sample library available from Roland.
Mike Bennett is proud to be an artist and clinician for Taye Drums, Sabian Cymbals, LP Percussion, Rhythm Tech Percussion, Regal Tip Drumsticks, Evans Drumheads and Roland Electronics. He has been recognized by Downbeat Magazine as a rising star and Los Angeles Jazz Scene Magazine says that his, "perfectly accented and dynamic drumming makes him a standout."

Originally from, Brazil, Nando Raio has established himself as a first-call electric and acoustic bassist in Los Angeles. Equally versed in pop and jazz music, Nando's versatility has led him to countless sessions and tours with many notable acts opening for artists such as the Dave Matthews Band, Vertical Horizon, Nelly Furtado and others. An authority on Brazilian music and bass playing, Nando's merging of the music of his home with many contemporary styles has given him a unique sound of his own both as a performer and a composer. Nando is a Yamaha Bass artist and is currently performing with pop music star Hilary Duff.
Blake White is an extremely accomplished, talented, self - taught guitarist. Having played for more than 20 years, he is quickly gaining notoriety amongst jazz-fans and local musicians for his extensive musical knowledge and vocabulary.
