Keyboardist Bob Baldwin Releases
Memoirs of the Hudson DVD
Moorestown, NJ/September 17, 2007
As All About Jazz eloquently described in 2004, "As a contemporary jazz keyboardist, composer, and producer...Bob Baldwin is continually maintaining his status in the music industry as a person to watch."
An innovator in the fusion of R&B and pop, Baldwin has indeed been a staple on the contemporary jazz scene for nearly two decades.
Perhaps best known for his collaborations, Baldwin has worked with more major names in the biz than one can reasonably list...Will Downing, Grover Washington, Jr., Marion Meadows, George Benson, Lenny White, Jeff Kashiwa, Chieli Minucci, Gerald Albright and Chuck Loeb to name a few.
Being that jazz is an oral tradition, it seems only natural that such a prolific performer would choose to record his musical diary on DVD with Memoirs of the Hudson. Delightfully engaging, fans can watch the master craftsman at work in the place he loves the best...LIVE....featuring the Bob Baldwin/Marion Meadows classic, "South Beach," featuring Meadows on saxophone. Meadows also does a version of "Body Rhythm" that is subtle and beautiful.
In the DVD, Baldwin also fuses his NY Latin/Brazilian world music roots, featuring Chembo Corniel from Puerto Rico on congas/bongos and the great Cafe Da Silva from Brazil on Brazilian percussion, which comes alive on the Baldwin composition "Cafezinho."
Memoirs of the Hudson is being released under the nuGroove label. For more information, please visit www.bobbaldwin.com.
