The Vault VIP Lounge, www.myspace.com/thevaultvip, located inside the OC Pavilion, is pleased to announce several upcoming performances in the Friday Night Jazz Series.
On October 26, the Vault VIP Lounge features jazz vocalist Rose Mallett. A seasoned and talented jazz vocalist, accompanied by professional musicians, Rose has captured the essence of vocal delivery that some say reminds them of the range and texture of Sarah Vaughn: the joy and playfulness of Ella Fitzgerald; the foreboding pain of Billie Holiday; the regal articulation of Lena Horne. Rose is a master in live performance. She solidly delivers whether a haunting ballad or clowning it up with funny antics on comical songs -- Rose knows how to engage and mezmerize her audience.

The Vault VIP Lounge is pleased to welcome the return of the Greg Parman Quartet on Saturday, November 2. Greg Parman has over 20 years of professional experience on the saxophone working with One Nation (Latin), Mark Massey (pianist), Ron Kobayashi (pianist), Luis Villegas (Latin guitarist), Little Bill and the Blue Notes and Merrilee Rush (“Angel of the Morning”). Greg was featured on the One Nation album “Las Ventanas” that was honored with the 2004 Orange County Music Award for Best Latin - Contemporary. And, his work on the Chris Williams album “Premodernism” was recognized at the 2007 Orange County Music Awards for Best Latin. Greg has been referred to as one of Orange County’s best kept secrets. Pianist Scott Tibbs holds a PhD in Music Composition from UCLA. He has performed with well-known artists such as Dizzy Gilespie, Bobby Shew, Chuck Findley, Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis, Gary Pucket, Wayne Newton, Bob Hope, and Bill Cosby, to name a few. He has also worked with R&B and HipHop artists Beyonce Knowles (Destiny’s Child) and Missy Elliot. His music and playing can be heard on several recordings for Warner/Chapell, Polygram, Curb, and many jazz labels. He has conducted the London Symphony Orchestra and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Scott currently tours with the legendary drummer Omar Hakim (Weather Report and Sting). Joey Heredia is a remarkable drummer who blends a multitude of styles, timing, and unbelievable skill to achieve a unique level of playing making him one of the best in the business. His credits include luminaries like Stevie Wonder, Sheila E, Sergio Mendez, Herb Alpert, Tania Maria, Scott Henderson, Frank Gambale, and Dianne Reeves.
The Scott Martin Latin Soul Band comes to the Vault VIP Lounge on November 16. Scott plays tenor, alto, baritone and soprano saxophone and flute. He has performed all over the world with many artists but is best known for his successful tenure with the Poncho Sanchez Latin Jazz Band for over thirteen years, winning a Grammy with the band for 'Best Latin Jazz Performance'. Scott played on over ten of the band's CDs, playing all sax parts and contributing compositions and arrangements for over 10 of the band's CDs.
“Scott is a tremendous talent and possesses a great sound on Sax & Flute,” said Erik Chico Manqueros of The Latin Style of Jazz. “Scott's brand of music is hip and fresh yet reminiscent of that classic material from the 60's.”
