July 30 - August 3, 2008 - The Huntsville Jazz Festival is back again this year, bigger and better than ever. Five great evening concerts in Huntsvilles intimate Algonquin Theatre. The jazz offerings continue daily throughout the community for the duration of the festival.

July 30 - Juno Award-winner, pianist, composer, arranger, leader, Hilario Duran is a master of Cuban and Latin jazz. Supported by bassist Roberto Occhipinti and drummer Mark Kelso this exceptional trio breaks new ground presenting a unique style of Afro-Cuban rhythms such as danzon, cha-cha-cha, bembe and mambo - in a high energy jazz style.

July 31 - Trumpet virtuoso Marcus Belgrave will join us, bringing his six-piece band that includes New Orleans reed master Charlie Gabriel and vocalist supreme Joan Bow Belgrave, together these master musicians will celebrate the music of Louis Armstrong and the great ladies of jazz.

August 1 - Piano wizard Michael Kaeshammer has thrilled Festival audiences in the past and this year he introduces his critically acclaimed vocal stylings, a not to be missed jazz meets pop concerto.

August 2 - The lovely and talented Dione Taylor showcases her silky smooth voice that has her pegged as Canada's next great jazz singer. "Dione Taylor is a very soulful, bluesy singer who has developed a nice sound that is all her own."

August 3 - Manteca - From its early years, featuring appearances with legends Miles Davis and Weather Report, appearances at the Hollywood Bowl, a Juno Award and international acclaim. Manteca led by Matt Zimbel and Henry Heillig have reunited to bring it's eclectic brand of "worldbeat jazz fusion" to a new audience and a devoted following of past fans. A class act that brings "it every time", high energy, supercharged jazz.

You're invited to join us and celebrate a long weekend of great entertainment, and discover Muskoka Magic jazz style!
