The Brandino Newsletter 2004

An update on what’s happening in the world of BRANDINO

News Story by: Lora De Mars

2004 has been an amazing year for the man who beat all the odds to become one of the most prominent and successful bass guitarists of our time. It began when the rap group, Outkast won the coveted Grammy awards for both “Album of the Year” as well as “Best Rap Album of the Year” –an album on which Kevin Brandon - also known as Brandino - performed and had the opportunity to work with producer Andre Benjamin. Brandino has been on a non-stop flight to the top ever since.

This year, Brandino returned to the studio to work on a variety of recording projects for such artists as Brandy (Atlantic Records), J 1 (Capital Records), Jamiroquai (Sony Records) and Jesse McCartney (Hollywood Records).

Brandino has also been in the process of recording a live concert album with his jazz trio - Brandino and Friends. Two solo records - Brandino Live and Summertime - are also scheduled for release by the end of this year.

For many years, Brandino has worked within the television industry and he continued to do so this year, with the production of the 2004 TV Land Awards. His increasing visibility will be further enhanced when he is featured in upcoming advertisements and interviews for such companies as Warwick Basses, Ervana, BBE Sound and Pedal Snake, as well as Chittare in Italy. Also, the release of the Brandino Bass - a 5 string Acoustic/Electric Upright bass - is really starting to open some eyes to the wonder of this phenomenal artist.

Recently, Brandino completed a west coast tour with Special EFX’s famed guitarist Chieli Minucci, and he has now decided to take a break from his busy production and recording schedule.

Yes, it’s been a very busy 2004 for the man who has worked with some of the music industry’s greatest artists after a humble start in Compton, California. In addition to his active recording and production schedule, Brandino has also managed to continue to pursue live performances, concert dates with numerous artists, symphonic and recording dates and also perform with his church band, “The Sunday Morning Band” each week. And as if all of that was still not enough, he also began the development of “YOU CAN DO IT IF YOU TRY”—a non-profit organization that, once established, will focus on helping the physically and mentally challenged.

Wonder if he can top all of that in 2005?
