The book is arranged in a manner which allows experimentation. There are 18 chapters in this book.
Each chapter has three or more parts including playing examples. I was intrigued by the good, solid common sense approach of this book, as found in every chapter. Chapter 10 covered special effects, broken chords, patterns, arpeggios, turnarounds, and substitution, and it was advice that will be useful to every pianist. Chapter 14 deals with improvising with the left-hand. Every chapter in this instruction book is a gem.
