Recorder Music for Children by Jerry Silverman

As the recorder instrument makes its way into jazz and world music more and more with the passage of time, it would be nice to introduce children to this instrument and later on those same children could learn other instruments of jazz! RECORDER MUSIC FOR CHILDREN is essentially a music book for practice and solo performance. It would follow or accompany such a book as YOU CAN TEACH YOURSELF RECORDER by William Bay, or other books for beginners.

This collection of 47 easy songs with chordal accompaniment is well-crafted and a hands-on way to learn recorder songs. Nicely done!It is always good to introduce children to jazz at any early age, and learning to play the recorder instrument is a nice way to do it. Children and adults will find this educational!
