Review:

This reviewer was recently introduced to the remarkable surreal abstract art of Dolino by jazz guitarist-singer, Paulinho Garcia.  Dolino is a great admirer of jazz and some of his fantastic, creative paintings reflect jazz themes.  This book features such jazz-oriented acrylic on canvas themes as "Swing" (2002), "Alice in Wonderland" (2005), "Bebop" (2005), among others.

Dolino signs his colorful art creation as Dolino.  With text and paintings by the artist, the jazz reader gains insight into the work of Dolino and his personal visions for creating meaningful art to share with others.

If you have not heard of this Brazilian artist, more information about him and his fine art work can be found at www.dolino.net.  Jazz readers will find this book an intriguing and memorable look at a fine contemporary artist at the height of his creative powers.  Highly recommended.
