Review: Jazz guitarists will enjoy this collection with its play-along CD. It is a series written and arranged for both classical and jazz guitarists. Each piece in the book is a special tribute to a special guitarist.
There is a wide range of rhythms covered. Among them, Bossa Nova, Afro-Samba, Bajao-Samba, and the jazz waltz. Forward is by Jorge Morel and there is a message from Jack Wilkins.
Songs include "December Flower" dedicated to Charlie Byrd, "Manhattan Bossa" dedicated to Luiz Bonfa, "Full Moon Above New York City" dedicated to Jorge Morel, "A Little Bit of This and a Little Bit of That" dedicated to Bucky Pizzarelli, and "Mosaic Moods" dedicated to Howard Alden. Each song is composed by Michele Ramo.
An enjoyable book, this will be fun instruction and learning for those interested in these classic jazz performers. Tab markings are also included. A fine collection and tribute, worthy of the jazz guitarist's time! Nice!
