Review:

This is a remarkable collection of jazz guitar solos.  There are ten internationally-known and respected jazz guitarists represented.  The jazz guitar artists are Bruce Arnold, Sheryl Bailey, Mark Boling, Steve Cardenas, Corey Christiansen, Vic Juris, Larry Koonse, Bruce Saunders, John Stowell, and Anthony Wilson.

Websites, photos, and factual data on each guitarist is given.  The reader will discover many facts about his or her favorite jazz guitarist!

Each solo work by the artists allows the reader an opportunity to see, feel, and express the song in personal performance.  This is an enjoyable learning experience!

The material is topnotch, and the accompanying CD is well-crafted.  Corey Christiansen soars on his "Roads," as does Bruce Saunders on his "Blues or Not."  The other artists are incredibly good with their performances, including Bruce Arnold on "A Few Dozen," Sheryl Bailey's intriguing "Old and Young Blues," Mark Boling's "William's Sunny Spring," Steve Cardenas' "Sights," Vic Juris' "889," John Stowell's "Lonely Blue Angel," and Anthony Wilson's "Time Flies."

As a collection for study, performance, and reflections, this collection is a definite plus.  It is something that jazz guitarists will welcome for its fresh, innovative approaches.  Excellent.
