Peace of Mind by Julie Dexter

Birmingham, England resident Julie Dexter brings an enhanced, classical touch to her recent release, "Peace of Mind."

A trained musician who writes, arranges, composes and produces, Dexter is considered one of the most important female vocalists of her generation and has been dubbed "United Kingdom's Queen of Soul."

Drawing from the influences of Billie Holiday, Nancy Wilson, and Abbey Lincoln, Dexter transports classic soul to the mainstreams with selections such as "Burning" and "Sweet Dub." In "Peace of Mind," she paints a portrait of a person who is at the crossroads in making an important decision.

Dexter begins that journey with the initial track, "Ketch A Vibe," and ending with a reprise of the title track. The seven track album, "Peace of Mind," leaves listeners on a high note, bringing a refreshing sound to an otherwise parched environment.
