Non Stop to Brazil by Luiz Bonfa

What makes this CD so unique is that it is a compilation of compositions selected by and performed by the composer, jazz guitarist, Luiz Bonfa. All fifteen selections are crystal clear recordings, and it feels like having Bonfa and percussionist Cafe in the room with you! When one thinks of Brazilian music, Bonfa as guitarist and composer comes to mind, and this is an outstanding introduction to his music and skills for the newcomer, and a joy to jazz fans who have long enjoyed his music!

Not often heard, the wonderful "Mar Encnatado" (Enchanted Sea) is on this recording, along with such standards a "Sensible," "Gentle Rain," "Manha De Carnaval," "Danca India," "Sambolero." This CD is one of the few currently available that showcases the magic of Luiz Bonfa. Guitarist Gene Bertoncini guests on three tracks with Bonfa and Cafe. "Sambolero" illustrates what an intricate jazz guitarist Bonfa is, and reveals his skills as a guitar master in full form and creativity!
