It’s all about style when after years behind the scenes you enter center stage. What is so special at times is when an artist comes out not by debuting "in the box" hits but diversifies into their world. A world musically orchestrated with original and complex efforts. Never looking for the sure thing as to acceptance by the masses. Letting the public know out front what to expect from their first cut to last, such is the design of JJ Sansaverino.
Sunshine After Midnight released by ALZEJO Records in 2005 is a dynamic and sound piece of fresh jazz. Sharp and distinct compositions along with tempos that allow the listeners a smooth ride from opening cut "Sunshine."
Showcasing Mr. Sansaverino’s talent on strings, although proficient in other areas, he succeeds in igniting the feel of R&B, jazz, rock, and fusion. Sunshine After Midnight explores numerous tones and musical methods successfully which stem from his background as arranger/composer through the years. This is well documented in "Just About Everybody" and exciting cut for and exhilarating offering. Key in the fusion experience, which is a fine addition to the piece, making it work!
Mr. Sansaverino’s audio class in ballad methodology is a listening delight in "My Lover," which showcases his sensual string style. Very nice for a moonlit midnight excursion.
Accompanied by a cast of very exclusive and talented sounds Mr. Sansaverino has presented one of the finer works I have been subjected to in 2005. Upbeat and hot in feel, daring and adventurous in style, Sunshine After Midnight will exceed most knowledgeable jazz fans expectations.
