My First Christmas With You by Jim Wilson

The Christmas holidays may be over, but pianist Jim Wilson creates sentimental, jubilant, poignant holiday music that could be enjoyed at any time.

"My First Christmas With You" combines traditional melodies, two new songs and three vocal renditions by guests Dan Fogelberg, Stephen Bishop and Marilyn Martin.

The album contains many classic, instrumental Christmas tunes, including "O Holy Night," "O Come All Ye Faithful," "Silent Night," and "Greensleeves" (known as "What Child Is This?" with the incorporation of Irish Uilleann pipes).

"My First Christmas With You," the title track, is co-written by John Bettis, who has penned hits for Whitney Houston and Julio Iglesias. There is also a vocal rendition of Wilson's vocals combined with Marilyn Martin (known for her #1 duet with Phil Collins, "Separate Lives.")

Other vocalists include Dan Fogelberg in "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and Stephen Bishop in a melancholy version of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas." Included is the bonus radio mix track, "River," which features saxophonist Everette Harp. Very graceful and eloquent.
