Strings Attached by Peter Ecklund

Peter Ecklund mixes contemporary jazz with a wonderful dose of nostalgic sound to create many wonderful selections on "Strings Attached," many of these songs his own compositions! In addition, he performs these old standards with his exquisite cornet: "Try A Little Tenderness," "Too Marvelous For Words," Putting On The Ritz," and each is a classic rendition from this gifted cornet player.

Peter Ecklund has the ability to create a mood with his sound imagery, a mood that can be serious, joyful, or humorous depending upon the song performed. "Waltz For Another Time" and "Carnevale" reveal the wide range of Peter Ecklund's cornet skills, and the intricate "Wedding of the Painted Doll" from the 1929 movie "Broadway Melody" is another example. Hoagy Carmichael's song, "Jubilee," from the Mae West movie "Every Day's A Holiday" (recorded by Louis Armstrong in 1938) is another winning entry in this 16 selection CD of jazz cornet music!
