Following the release of Samson Record's 2001 release, "Kickin' It," Lorber's first studio album in two years, GRP Records release, "The Very Best of Jeff Lorber." The 15 selections take the listener back as far as Lorber's 1993 release, "Worth Waiting For," on Verve-Forecast Records.
Upon hearing tracks from that period, there is a sense that Lorber enjoys the freedon from the rigid, demanding roles of being a producer. Check out tracks "Lost With You" and "Rain Song."
Added to the mix is the unreleased tracks "Reverend Green" and the demo version of "Bring It On," featuring the vocals of Eric Benet.
After re-emerging as a solo artist in 1993 with "Worth Waiting For," Lorber went on to release, "Westside Stories" (1994), "State of Grace" (1996) and "Midnight" (1998), all huge hits.
Included in the mix is Lorber's "PCH (Pacific Coast Highway)," in which he gained a Grammy nomination for best R&B instrumental.
Jeff Lorber's selections are unforgettable and will continue to stand the test of time.
