The Swing of Things by Rick Stephenson

Ah, the big band sound. Can't beat the sound of a great band, all pumped up and ready to play. What makes the sound more impressive, is when you have a vocalist who is able to not only lead the band in every way, but move the music along as well. Rick Stephenson does this in spades on his debut CD entitled, ...The Swing of Things. Sure, people will make comparisons between Rick, and Darin, Sinatra, and Harry Connick Jr. Rick holds his own, which is no mean feat considering some of the compositions on the CD that are readily identifiable by other artists. For example, Mack The Knife. Immediately one thinks of the great Bobby Darin. Rick sails through this gem with everything intact, swinging band, fine vocal delivery. Can't ask for any better than this.

Also recommended is Sammy Cahn's fine composition, "I Fall in Love too easily". If you love the big band sound, with vocals to spare, this wonderful CD will not disappoint. Bravo, Rick! Lookout for his new CD entitled, From One Blue Eyes To Another. You can order Rick's CDs by calling 1-888-BIG-BAND.
