This-N-That by Craig Pilo

The Jazz Review loves to feature new and innovative jazz talent and Craig Pilo is one of the most talented up and coming drummers around. The diversity of Craig's musical background is what impressed us the most and obviously shows through in his work. In June, Craig was featured in Modern Drummer Magazine's "On the Move" section with a very interesting write up. Since 1992 Craig has literally been on the move playing in a variety of bands for Carnival, Norwegian and Princess Cruise lines.

This is just the start to this ingenious musician's busy schedule. Craig has backed former members of Blood, Sweat and Tears, the Platters, the Lettermen and the Coasters in a tour capacity. Another interesting twist to Craig's projects is his pit performances with professional and community theater productions such as Evita, Godspell, Joseph, Mame and 42nd Street. Craig has a BA in Music Education from the University of North Texas College of Music and maintains a private teaching practice in between the rest of his work.

Craig's solo project "This-N-That" showcases his talents by presenting us with a variety of upbeat tunes, some down home blues and a few beat crushing jams. Craig plays with a beat all his own and is not only a skilled musician but a notable writer and producer. "This-N-That" features original work written, performed and produced by Craig with the help of some great sidemen. This CD is available directly from Craig and it is one that you will definitely want to add to your collection.
