Tunch by Mark White

This associate professor at Berklee College of Music astounded the jazz music industry with this carefully plotted release of well developed truly original musicwork. To me Mark White was an unheard of musician that has been hiding in the wings carefully scheming this latest release. Sharing his stage with woodwinds player Les Thimmig, Victor Mendoza on vibes, John Lockwood on bass, Jamie Haddad on drums, and John Arcaro on piano this group commingles to form beautiful music. I could not figure out what was different about Mark's release on my first listen. However, my realization came into focus when I figured out Mark is a musicians musician whom loves to develop down a slightly different path not trying to copy someone else's walk, but making up one all his own. MMC has found a star in Mark White, and a fan in me.
