Turning Night Into Day by Nelson Rangell

Nelson Rangell plays a sweet, mellow saxophone, and those who like David Sanborn will also enjoy the technical skills of this young saxophonist. On this CD, Rangell plays alto saxophone, flute, soprano saxophone, and piccolo. His work on flute in "April Snow" is magical, accompanied by Chuck Loeb on piano, Wolfgang Haffner on drums, Tim LeFebvre on bass, and David Charles on percussion. Other selections for enjoyment include "La Repuesta," "Turning Night Into Day," "The Journey," among others in this excellent CD.
