Remember When... by Linda Ransom & the Phil Morrison Trio

If you have never heard Linda Ransom perform, this CD is a wonderful introduction to her versatile voice! "Remember When..." is a showcase collection for this lovely songbird, and the Phil Morrison Trio adds a special touch of class to these great performances! Pianist Keith Williams with Phil Morrison on bass backed by Steve Silverstein on drums, along with the other excellent musicians, give a tight, harmonic coordinated sound that makes it one of the best trios going! They are excellent!

Linda Ransom has a wide range of voice stylings, and she is bound to break into the best-sellers one of these days soon, for her great talent is too important to be considered anything but first rate! There is some special magic in her tone that sets her apart from the crowd, a sound that is uniquely Linda Ransom! Listen to her on "Speak to Me of You," "Misty," "The Magic of Brazil," "The Nearness of You," and "There's Always A New Beginning," for a full sampling of her unique stylings! What a voice! There are 13 selections on this CD and each is different and well-performed.

I enjoyed every song, especially "Without You," which is a beautiful ballad. Linda Ransom takes her place among the ladies of jazz vocals with this collection, "Remember When..." For fans of the classic, "Misty," this version is worth the price of the CD just to hear how Linda Ransom handles it! If you are looking about for new jazz vocalists, somebody new with a new singing perspective, you won't be disappointed with Linda Ransom. Linda Ransom is a first rate singer in every way!
