Standards My Way by Kimiko Itoh

Kimiko Itoh's stunning and distinctively crystal clear vocals have been astonishing her Japanese audience for years. Kimiko has been voted the #1 Female Jazz Vocalist in Japan's Swing Journal and Reader's Polls for five consecutive years! The worldwide audience of Jazz will soon be praising her name after listening to her latest release, "Standards My Way". We were thoroughly impressed and dazzled by her electrifying release of great classic jazz favorites. Kimiko has one of the most technically mastered voices that you will ever hear. Her vocals come through in every song with such precision and true feeling. Many great vocalist can bellow out unheard of vocals from the bottom of their stomach, however, Kimiko's vocals come straight from her heart of emotions. Kimiko's style and smooth tone have been compared to that of a young Barbara Streisand. Conversely, we feel that Kimiko blows away Ms. Streisand in pure natural talent. (Sorry Barbara!) We predict that Kimiko Itoh will soon be a common household name!

It was almost impossible to chose only one favorite song on this release. With Kimiko's world-class voice she could make any song sound positively beautiful. We enjoyed her passionate rendition of "Autumn in New York", her up-tempo version of "Wives and Lovers", her soulful remake of "Old Devil Moon" and her deep felt feelings in "Hurricane Country". If you love radiant vocals, you're going to love "Standards My Way". Check it out!
