Winter Moon by Jody Sandhaus

Winter Moon is a fresh, harmonically beautiful collection of jazz vocals of such songs as "Not In Love;" "The Ballad Of The Sad Young Men" (one of the best vocals ever done on this jazz ballad!); Cole Porter's "From This Moment On;" "Winter Moon;" "For All We Know;" "Caravan," among others on this 12 selection CD. Jody Sandhaus has a beautiful, gentle voice that lends itself excellently to these songs, a voice that lingers lovingly over each lyric with great sensitivity.

Peter Malinverni on piano reminds the listener of the very best of what a jazz pianist should be, and there is a combined touch of Peter Nero and Bill Evans in some of his classic stylings that will remain in the listeners' minds long after the songs are ended. Rufus Reid on bass and Leroy Williams on drums each give memorable performances performing with the vocalist and pianist!

This CD is a winner for those who like fine jazz vocals. Jody Sandhaus delivers with style and feeling in her CD collection, WINTER MOON. Very, very nice! A perfect jazz vocals CD for listening pleasure!
