Howm I Doin? by Henry Lee Pucho Brown & His Latin Soul Brothers

Produced by Todd Barkan, HOW'M I DOIN'? is one great jazz trip down the Latin Jazz Lane with Henry Lee Pucho Brown and his Latin Soul Brothers performing 11 selections that will move you with their aliveness! Some of these songs include the title, "How'm I Doin'," plus "Son Cubano," "Somewhere In The Night," "Esy," "Harlem Havana," "Vietnam Mambo," "Soul Magic."

This CD gets down and moves! Give a few listens to "Son Cubano" and see what that does via way of charging up the old dancing shoes! Filled with excellent performances and performers, this is a memorable CD for listening pleasure for those who like their Latin music spicy, lively, jazzy, and a little on the sweet wild side of things! John Madhatter Spruill illustrates he is as talented on the organ as he is on the piano and lays down some very intricate paths in his playing!

Louis Kahn shows what a great jazz violinist can do with Latin music, and is a delight to hear as is Eddie Pazant on alto and baritone saxophones. The magic of this CD is the various musicians performing in complex harmony with a shared feeling and vision for their jazz listening audience. Every performer is in top-notch form, and every performer has a solid share of solo work spread out over these 11 selections.

This is a fine recording, and Dave Valentin is at his finest on flute and alto flute on tracks 2,5,9. A great collection, HOW'M I DOIN'? is fine, fine, fine, fine Latin musical expressions!
