Among his many achievements is his production of A&M's Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee album in the 70s. His rough and ready vocals are matched by his capability on Hammond B-3, accordion, kalimba and keyboards.
This is a very powerful performance incorporating fabulous heartfelt compositions and a stable of top quality bluesmen. If I may quote Mighty Mo, I feel this says it all............"Blues comes from a place so deep that even madness cannot penetrate there. Blues is free there, and it makes sense of the madness by changing what is has disfigured into something wonderfully transfigured. Blues is my story and my glory. Blues is my wailin' wall."
My only complaint is that it all ends too soon, a mere 45 minutes. Contemporary blues at its finest.
