One Special Moment by Kim Waters

Kim Waters....One Special Moment,....Where do i begin. Well, if you are a Kim fan, you are probably used to his mellow seductive soprano sax, that is famous for making many pairs of panties come off. However, on his latest effort, it makes you wonder if he is trying to lose this reputation. I don't know about you, but from a sales an marketing perspective, that isn't a bad rep to have. He really found his niche by playing these type of songs. Although the CD is decent, you get the feeling he is out of his element and trying to hard to funk on some songs. Some of his grooves would better suit other artist. This CD won't grab you immediately. However it will grow on you slowly. He does a very good job on the R&B song "FORTUNATE". This song is vintage KIM. You can clearly see that he talented, and features Chuck Loeb on a few cuts. However, he just doesn't have the funk punch on this CD. My advice to him would be, "Man, stick to those slow seductive songs that got you to the top" On a scale of 1-10,....this CD is a 6. Check out his Christmas CD for the vintage flavor... Kim, you didn't hit a home run with this one, but a good double. Check it out for yourself.
