Thought Provoking by Rick DellaRatta

A jazz artist with a distinctive style...augmented by equally distinctive accompanying musicians. DellaRatta doubles as the vocalist and pianist in a swinging quartet. He is equally adept in both roles. He wrote five of the songs including the opening Living Inside A Daydream where he quickly gets you hooked...he has a soft, melodic almost quirky voice that can easily grow on you, and his talent on piano also demands notice. The quartet renders a beautiful version of the standard Everything I Have Is Yours. Starting with Liebman on tenor, the piece unfolds into a lovely vocal rendition and then reverts to an instrumental version with DellaRatta and Liebman sharing solospace. DellaRatta's vocal rendition of If I Only Had A Brainis exceptionally well done as is the bass work of Gomez on the piece. Some of DellaRatta's songs would no doubt have pop appeal as well as jazz appeal. His easy style lends itself to both markets, and I have no doubt that he will become a well known figure in the music world. Check out Rick's website at Rick DellaRatta.
