On Kloud 9 by Kloud 9

Like slowly flowing, molten lava, the music on the CD On Kloud 9 by the duo Kloud 9 has a smooth, undulating ebb and flow of sensuous, sophisticated, sound. On Kloud 9, the debut CD of twin brothers Kelvis and Kendall Duffie, was released in the United Kingdom on the Expansion Records label, and has all the earmarks of a polished urban sound combining contemporary R and B, modern soul and smooth jazz.

The gentle and harmonious vocals by the brothers Duffie and guest Karen Bernod are accompanied by well-engineered rhythmic groves and a blend that envelopes the ear in a silken soundscape. The CD also features the talents of Ray Hayden, Kirk Whalum, and Incognito. The mood of the music is fairly even throughout, with consistent medium to down-tempo, laid back sounds. This is smooth romantic mood music that may definitely put you on "cloud nine".

From cursory examination of various web sites devoted to CD sales, this recording may currently be only available outside of the United States. For fans of smooth jazz, soul, and modern R and B however, On Kloud 9 should be sought out as a highly recommended addition to one’s CD collection.
