I Feel Like Some Jazz Today by Eve Cornelious and the Chip Crawford Trio

Vocalist Eve Cornelious has performed at many top jazz festivals with the likes of Roy Hargrove, Mulgrew Miller, Jon Hendricks and has recorded with Ramsey Lewis. She brings a wealth of experience and performs with a true understanding of her craft. Ms.Cornelious sings with supreme confidence and experimentation becomes a mere plaything.

This session finds her in the good company of pianist Chip Crawford, who has also performed with such stars as Donald Byrd, James Moody, Slide Hampton and Grady Tate.

The husband and wife team are joined by the outstanding bassist Michael "you gotta hear him" Howell and Alvin Atkinson, a fine drummer. Guests include Ray Codrington - trumpet, Reggie Codrington - soprano, Ira Wiggins - tenor and percussionist Beverly Botsford.

Together, this group reaches out and grabs you by the heartstrings. Nine tunes include I Feel like Some jazz Today, My Funny Valentine, Tenderly, I Love Paris, Better Go Now, Lush Life, Airmail Special, Flamenco Sketches and A Thoughtful Message. If you like Betty Carter, you'll really appreciate this fine congregation. Four bright and shining stars.
