Review:

Brazilian-born singer, composer and producer Celia Malheiros delights us with an Amazonian patchwork of rhythms, delivering a gem of an album comprising eleven tracks of beautiful Brazilian groove oriented releases on her own music label, Sempre Crescendo Music. Celia includes in her line up some great artists, including among them the notorious composer/singer and guitarist João Bosco.

In this creation Cenário Brasileiro (recorded in Rio de Janeiro)  has a cast of all Brazilian musicians.  Here you have Itibere Orquestra Familia, Choro na Feira, Paulo Russo, Marcio Bahia, Luiz Brasil, Jota Moraes and Delia Fischer.  The music here is an inimitable miscellanea of rhythms and dashes including the choro, xote, samba,  bossa nova, baião and ciranda, which will travel you to the very soul of Brazil with an outcrying attribute. Celia exquisitely  draws her poetry from the opening tune “Inesquesíve” and then follows with three highlights: “Marcha Ré”, “ Cénario Brasileiro” and “Penumbra”. Not to be forgotten is Célia Malheiros and Paulo Rosso’s thick and inspired performance on “Sempre Crescendo” as well as «  Mesmo Mar ».

This album holds so much absolutely delicious  material here that one could keep going on and on. In concluding the valuation of this effort one would have to state that this is a fine authentic Brazilian rhythm albums anyone would have the grace of listening to. Cénario Brasileiro is (as a matter of fact) a splendid, forceful and fascinating craft.

Tracks:

Inesquecivel, Marcha Re, Cenario Brasileiro, Penumbra, Chorando Em San Francisco, Sei Nao!, Camila, Valeu!, Sempre Crescendo, To Xoteado, Mesmo Mar
