Review:

Michel Camilo continues to reveal his unique jazz genius for composition and piano performances in this release.  The CD comes alive, each note lingers in the listener's ears, and the performances by Michel Camilo, Charles Flores, and Dafnis Prieto compliment one another in a fine, musical manner.

There are twelve creative compositions in this fine CD collection.  Among them are found "Just Now," "My Sacred Place," "Spirit of the Moment," "Repercussions," "Nefertiti," "Nardis," the highly innovative "Trilogy," "Giant Steps," "A Place In Time," "Hurry Up and Wait," "Liquid Crystal," and "Solar (Explorations)."  The jazz listening audience will find each song a memorable jazz journey! "Nefertiti" links some imaginative jazz motifs together, fashioning an interlocking puzzle into a unique photograph of a jazz moment in time, and "Giant Steps" will invigorate the listeners with its solid, musical pathway.  "My Sacred Place" will be attractive to all listeners with its intricate approaches to a central theme which repeats in a colorful, imaginative fashion.  All the songs will have a different appeal to different listeners.

Michel Camilo is one of kind when it comes to piano jazz explorations, and his unique playing style is all his own.  For those new to Michel Camilo, this is a fine introduction.  For those who enjoy the piano stylings of Michel Camilo, this is another lovely delight to savor and enjoy. Highly recommended.
