Diane Schuur is one of the finest contemporary jazz singers recording. She selects her music with care, and she sings it with care, feeling, and imagination. She won the Grammy award in 1986 and 1987. Her music appeals to a wide audience.

This CD collection contains her finest performances to date. There are thirteen songs in the collection. The songs include "Nice Work If You Can Get It," "I've Got Beginner's Luck," "They Say It's Wonderful," "Some Other Time," "Blue Skies," Without A Song," "It's Magic," "Taking A Chance On Love," "The Good Life," "If Someone Had Told Me," "My Favorite Things," "September In The Rain," and a memorable interpretation of "Danny Boy."

This is a must-have collection for all Diane Schuur fans. This would make for an excellent introduction to a person who is new to her sound and music. The collection works well on every level, and the performances are crisp, imaginative, and enjoyable. Her voice sparkles with feeling on every song. "Blue Skies," "Without A Song," and "The Good Life" reveal the poignant side of Diane Schuur. "September In The Rain" deserves much radio play time. "Some Other Time" will capture your heart with its open honesty and directness.

This is Diane Schuur at her finest. Topnotch. Highly recommended.
