Review:

The Standard is a collection not to be missed! The group voice work on this CD is outstanding, and highly creative.

There are thirteen songs in the collection. Among the many enjoyable performances are found the following songs: "Sweet Georgia Brown," "Straighten Up And Fly Right," "Seven Steps To Heaven," "Windmills Of Your Mind," "Someone To Watch Over Me," "Grace" (Pre-prise), "Back To You," "A Tisket A Tasket," "Bein' Green," "Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans," "What's Going On," "Shall We Gather At The River," and "Grace."

Take 6 is a much welcome sound to jazz harmony groups, and they are top notch in every way. Their sound is almost beyond description and every listener will have a different take when they listen to these men sing. Their sound is appealing, and enjoyable.

"Windmills Of Your Mind" reveals the uniqueness of Take 6 as a jazz vocal group. It is a song that requires repeat playings and would be a fine song on any jazz radio play list. Add to that list the songs, "What's Going On" and "Back To You."

Buy a copy for yourself and for a friend. The Standard featuring Take 6 is a highly enjoyable way to spend an evening listening to solid jazz group vocals. Very nice, very fine.
