Review: Kitty Margolis has returned to give jazz listeners
another great CD collection, this time with LEFT COAST LIFE,
a celebration of life and song with 11 selections. These
selections include "I Want to Be Happy," "It's You," "You Just
Might Get It," "Money," "Lonely at the Top," "Spring Will Be a
Little Late This Year," "Devil May Care," "Without a Song,"
"Heart's Desire," "The Best Is Yet to Come," and "Take It With
Me."
Kitty Margolis sings some of her own music in this collection,
and "You Might Just Get It" is a tremendous jazz vocal and
song which should attract new fans to hear Kitty Margolis. Her
voice is one of a kind, very seductive, very much in sync with
the emotions of the lyric and its music, and a voice that
vibrates with shared emotional responses. Her musicians
accompanying her performances are top-notch in every way,
and Paul Nagel on piano and Jamie Sieber on cello are among
the many talents that make this CD so enjoyable.
Jazz Fans should find Kitty Margolis' LEFT COAST LIFE a
perfect blend of jazz vocals and jazz music. Kitty Margolis is
at her finest in this collection, and each song is memorable.
Excellent.
