Review: Jessica Molaskey is following the success of her PENTIMENTO collection with A GOOD DAY, an equally enjoyable collection. The new collection is inspired by songs of 1950s, and it is a delightful listening adventure. Jessica Molaskey has one of those special jazz voices that is always full of life and style.
There are 14 songs in the A GOOD DAY collection, and each one will find a ready home with the jazz listening audience. Among the many fine songs are "All The Gals Join In," "Someboy Loves Me," "Small World," "I Don't Know Enough About You," "It's The Bluest Kind of Blues," "I Wouldn't Trade You," and "Side By Side."
There is a direct, sensual charm in Jessica Molaskey's vocals that makes for both enjoyable and entertaining listening. It would be interesting to see what Jessica Molaskey could do with some Cole Porter songs. She has a unique voice that is a much welcome addition to the area of jazz vocals.
