New Gene Krupa Book Now Available

Gene Krupa: The Pictorial Life of a Jazz Legend is a photographc presentation of the life, times and music of "that ace drummer man." With over 200 photographs that span six decades of jazz history, this most visual of performers, the man who made the drums a solo instrument, comes alive like never before. Contributing their own singular insights about Gene are the finest drummers working today, including Phil Collins, Peter Erskine, Kenny Aronoff, Carl Palmer, Neil Peart, Ed Shaughnessy and Steve Smith. The companion CD includes previously unreleased tracks covering five decases of Krupa's unmistakable drumming.

The author, Dr. Bruce H. Klauber, wrote another landmark work on Krupa in 1990, World of Gene Krupa: That Legendary Drummin' Man, with an introduction by Mel Torme'. A professional jazz drummer for over 40 years, Klauber wrote and produced the many Warners and Hudson Music DVDs on Krupa, Buddy Rich, the Legends of Jazz Drumming series, and the Classic Drum Solos series.
