Jean Shy’s musical influences were very versatile and ranged from Elvis Presley to Mahalia Jackson; from Ella Fitzgerald and Dinah Washington to Aretha Franklin and some of the other great Jazz and Soul Singers.

JEAN SHY has worked with many of the great Jazz Names, i.e.: Legendary Earl Palmer - Drummer; Larry Gales - Bass (played for Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Thelonious Monk); Drummer - Roy McCurdy; Lou Forestieri - Piano; Billy Mitchel Pianist (played Piano in the Film "The Charly Parker Story"); Legend Paul Kuhn - Piano; Kurt Bong (Drummer and Bandleader of the Hessischer Rundfunk Radio Orchester); Dieter Reith Pianist & Arranger; Tootie Heath - Drummer; and others.

The JAZZ BAND BALL ORCHESTRA (JBBO) has played in almost every European country. From 1979 the group has played regularly at the greatest traditional jazz spectacle in the world, the Jazz Jubilee in Sacramento, USA. Owing to its great successes, the Group has been invited several times to Vancouver and Victoria in Canada and has played in Florida, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. In 1983 in Sacramento was founded the JBBO Fan Club.

Eight of the twelve CD Tunes are compositions written and composed by Jean. The Songs talk about real Life Issues such as Love, Pain and Self-Realization. The Cover Songs have been very carefully selected and have been rarely covered, if at all. All the titles have been marvelously arranged in a fresh new Smooth Jazz Style by JBBOs fantastic Pianist WOJTEK GROBORZ and have a great cross over potential.

As Individual Entities JEAN SHY & JBBO have hit many Home Runs, but together as a Team maybe they can win the World Series!
