Clare Teal has taken the UK jazz scene by surprise by being one of the very few artists to be honored by a triple track play on The Michael Parkinson Sunday Supplement radio show. The notoriously choosy presenter announced that he would be playing three tracks from her new album "Orsino's Songs" next week after raving about her version of "Mountain Greenery" that he had just aired. This amount of coverage is very rare and highly sought after by artists in the UK as Michael Parkinson and fellow BBC Radio Two presenter Terry Wogan are known to have the power and audience reach to break new artists with very few plays. Teal has been championed by Parkinson in particular and this second album of hers looks set to become a huge success in Europe.
Teal is signed to the Candid Record label, home to American singer Stacey Kent who is already established as an international act. The two singers could not be more different and it is expected that Teal will be making her way to the USA sometime next year, but as yet, her dates have not been confirmed.
