Packed with as much powerful stage presence as any Capital Hill politician, Rouzier is an advocate of jazz music and plans to make sure the public get on board and enjoy the best jazz in her native home of Washington, D.C. "Jazz music is one of the biggest art forms driving American music today," says Rouzier. "This country has a strong heritage and this show will be a tribute to Americans who believes in holding on to our culture and freedom. I am here to serve the American people with an all-party evening of jazz!" Rouzier’s fans expect the atmosphere will be as jubilant as at any winning party’s campaign headquarters.
The Coco Rouzier Quartet is a four-member jazz band led by Coco Rouzier on vocals, Emmanuel Saridakis on Piano, Yoshi Waki on Bass and Noel Paris on Drums. Described as a classic jazz sound, Rouzier and her band unites the audience with red hot tunes and loving lyrics. She invites listeners to experience traditional sound with timeless standards such as Route 66, Blue Moon and Bewitched. "I was amazed when I heard Coco’s voice singing the songs I grew up with she made them sound grand again," says Bessie Cross, a fan of the quartet.
Working in the same style that made jazz legends like Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn, Rouzier will be singing classic songs such as S’wonderful, The Very Thought of You and Almost Like Being in Love. "When you listen to Coco’s CD, the influences of Bossa Nova, Swing and Be Bop are instantly apparent," describes Al Afshar, owner of the Bohemian Caverns. Her sultry, fiery, sensuous and soothing delivery of Jazz standards is truly flawless.
