Jazz Lovers Get Their Kicks on Route 133

August 20, 2002, Westchester, NY You can get your kicks on Route 66, but when it comes to jazz in Westchester, everyone’s taking Route 133 to the 17 Main Restaurant and Jazz Club in Mount Kisco, New York to hear the Coco Rouzier Quartet belt out great jazz tunes on Friday, September 6th.

Described as a classic jazz sound, the band’s groove is full of loving lyrics and red hot tunes, inviting listeners to experience their traditional sound put to timeless standards such as Route 66, Blue Moon and Bewitched. "I was amazed when I heard Coco’s voice singing the songs I grew up with. She made them sound grand again," says Bessie Cross, a fan of the quartet.

Borrowing a style that belonged to Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn, Rouzier will be singing classic songs such as S’wonderful, The Very Thought of You and Almost Like Being in Love. "I look forward to returning to 17 Main in Westchester. The residents really appreciates jazz music", comments Rouzier. "The Westchester community reminds me of where I grew up, a middle class area in Washington, D.C. I love performing classic songs for the Westchester audience." The quartet will perform three sets at 17 Main scheduled at 9:00 P.M., 10:00 P.M. and 11:00 P.M. "I look forward to having Coco Rouzier and her quartet back here at 17 Main," says Stephen Migliaccio, owner and operator at 17 Main Jazz Club. "Serving great food and great jazz music, always keeps our patrons coming back."
