Are you a self-proclaimed Jazz Aficionado or just the World's Biggest Jazz Fan and just so happen to be a great writer as well! Well if so, we would love to have you join our staff at jazzreview.com. We never have enough writers or photographers to review all of the material we receive, interview all the great jazz artists of today and tomorrow, or cover all the events taking place all over the world.
Ours is a collaborative website supported by volunteer writers, editors, photogrpahers, designers and programmers doing any and all of the following: writing CD reviews, performing jazz artist interviews, writing feature stories, writing jazz concert / festival reviews, photographing concerts, editing content, putting together artist bios or doing some of the behind the scenes programming and design work. We are also open to any new ideas or features for the site. The sky is the limit!
The only limiting factor in our organization is the level of professionalism that we exhibit in our work. We expect top-notch writing skills and do not tolerate poor grammar or spelling. We ask that our writers proof and edit their own material before submitting it, to ease the large job of our voluteer editing staff.
We regret the fact that we are not able to compensate you for your work at this time, however because of our limited budget this is not currently possible. Nevertheless, for our United States staff writers, as a small token of our appreciation, you will be able to keep all of the CDs that you review for the site. This is a nice way to build up quite an extensive jazz CD collection. (However, because of extremely high shipping costs, we are only able to send review CDs to our U.S. writers.)
To apply to JazzReview.com as a volunteer free-lance staff member, please fill out our Staff Application form by clicking on the Contact Us menu and choosing the staff application link (you must be a registered user to submit the form.) Once your application is submitted, we will review it within 7 to 10 business days and inform you of your application status.
