The 6th annual Newport Beach Jazz party will get underway on President’s Day Weekend at the Marriott Newport Beach Hotel and Spa . As advertised it will feature "Over 32 hours of Right Down the Middle and Straight Ahead Jazz."

The Monterey Jazz Festival has announced the lineup for the 49th Annual Monerey Jazz Festival held during the third weekend in September at the Monterey Fairgrounds, featuring over 500 artist appearing on seven stages for three nights and two days, offering nonstop jazz from performers ranging from from piano greats Dave Brubeck,Oscar Peterson and McCoy Tyner to vocalist Kurt Elling and the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Band. To celebrate the golden anniversary of the Monterey Jazz Festival, the event’s 50th Anniversary Band begins a nationwide tour this month on the West Coast with appearances in Southern California at the Irvine Barclay Theatre, Jan. 17, and UCLA ‘s Royce Hall, Jan. 18.
