Waldron was at the heart of the New York jazz scene during the 1950s and early 1960s, before he moved to Paris and became a popular jazz performer throughout Europe and Japan. His noteworthy career included recordings and performances during jazz' golden age with such legends as Billie Holiday, Charles Mingus and John Coltrane.
