Born in Brooklyn, New York, Terrence grew up in New Jersey and Connecticut. He has performed with guitarist Bill Frisell, bassist Kermit Driscoll's trio, is a member of bassist Anthony Cox’s groups Regional Jazz and the Happy Trio, and has performed at Carnegie Hall and Ellis Island.

A new record label, Flattened Planet Records, was recently created to promote improvised and creative music. The label has three recordings which are scheduled for release over the next six months. Artists on the new label include drummer JT Bates, guitarist Joe Battaglia, bassist Adam Linz, saxophonist Michael Lewis, and guitarist Terrence McManus.
