The band will perform an Afro-Caribbean repertoire of Jazz and dance rhythm, as well as music from many countries in Central/South America. The band is lead by flutist/saxophonist/composer Bobby Ramirez with Daniel Zaremba, keyboards; Ramses Colon, bass; Ruben "tuti" Jimenez, drums; Edwin Bonilla, congas/percussion; and vocalist Sandra Medina.
The repertoire will include music from Ramirez's latest CD "Ritmo Jazz Latino" as well as new music from his upcoming CD entitled "Pan Con Bistec." This will be Bobby's first performance in South Florida upon returning from his debut concerts in New York City.
New York concerts include performances a Jazz set at the Triad Theater (158 W. 72nd St between Columbus & Broadway) on Wednesday, September 25th, and Jazz on the Latin side at the Blue Lounge (625 Broadway between Houston & Bleecker) on Thursday, September 26th, 2002. Then returning to South Florida to perform in Hollywood. Bobby is also scheduled to perform as part of the Viva Broward Festival on Sunday, October 13th, 2002.
